So the 90s was a great time for street-wear fashion. Whether you were rocking kappa, cross colors, Fubu, or Karl Kani, each of these individual street-wear brands had a certain je ne sais quoi. During this time, Tommy Hilfiger was making an emerging scene to the fashion industry. With many celebrities like Aaliyah, Destiny's Child, or N'sync, everyone was wearing Tommy. Tommy Hilfiger designs has become popularized through the fashion world. Let's talk about how this emergence came into the scene.


Tommy Hilfiger first came on to the scene back in the 80s, where he was known for making preppy/old school attire. Even though, Tommy Hilfiger was popular during that time, he still wanted to gain more traction in his designs.


Fast forward to the 90s, Hilfiger came up with a new wave of designs of baggy clothes and was based on athletic wear influence. What made Tommy Hilfiger popular was his idea of getting well-known music artist and celebrities wearing his clothing and being spokespersons for his campaign.


Most importantly, how his street-wear fit perfectly with the music industry. Many popular hip-hop artists at the time expressed their gratitude of Hilfiger clothing. In result, this gained a huge influence of audience including today.


Like any other popular brands from the 90s, urban street-wear is one of the major trends we have now. Recently, an online retailer store, Frankie Collective made a collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger bringing in the reworks of the vintage attire. Other than that, many social influencers and celebrities still wear Tommy vintage.


It's safe to say that, Tommy Hilfiger is one of the most influential brand in fashion.
